Overview

ImKind is a personal journalling and kindness-tracking app. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it is handled. We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

What we collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the app experience:

Account information — your email address when you create an account.
Journal entries — text you write in the daily journal. Stored securely and only accessible by you.
Kind acts — the kindness acts you log, including descriptions and dates.
Onboarding preferences — your chosen theme, intentions, and personalisation answers provided during setup.
AI interactions — prompts sent to the AI for follow-up questions, reflections, and personalised kindness intentions. These are processed to generate your response and are not used to train AI models.
Subscription status — whether you have an active trial or subscription, managed via RevenueCat.
Device information — basic device and OS information collected by crash reporting tools to help us fix bugs.
Push notification token — if you grant permission, used to send you reminders and updates.

How we use your data

To provide and personalise the ImKind app experience
To generate AI-powered journal follow-ups, kindness intentions, and reflections
To manage your subscription and free trial
To send you push notifications (only if you grant permission)
To send transactional emails (e.g. email verification)
To diagnose and fix crashes and errors
To understand aggregate app usage patterns (anonymised)

We do not use your journal entries or kind acts for advertising, and we do not sell any personal data.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure in Sydney, Australia. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to your data is protected by row-level security — only you can read your own journal entries and kind acts.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

Your rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and all associated data
Export your data
Withdraw consent for push notifications at any time via your device settings

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@imkind.app. You can also delete your account directly within the app.

Children's privacy

ImKind is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For significant changes, we will notify you via the app or email.
